The Style Cosmology of Silk

Silk has always been something that I have associated with luxury, beauty, feminine fluidity and the essence of someone who is wealthy. Being a Style Cosmologist, I now understand why I associated these feeling with this particular textile: Silk IS an expression of physical and spiritual affluence and here's why. Silk is a shimmery natural textile derived from the protective cocoon the silkworm creates around itself. Silk naturally provides our bodies with a layer of energetic protection from Auric intruders.

Some people maintain that this practice of harvesting Silk is inhumane and have opted for creating artificial silk replacements from plant based materials like Eucalyptus and Pineapple. While this is an amazingly innovative, I fear it corrupts some of the key elements of the Style Cosmology of Silk and how it can serve our Light Bodies. Firstly, it does not honor the history of this cultural practice that has been in effect for thousands of years. We must remember that fashion items were not always thought of as disposable and were often passed down from generation to generation: especially Silk. We must also remember that we didn't always depend on mass manufacturing and underpaid garment workers to fulfill our manufacturing needs. Depending on where in the world your reside, you may have a whole family heirloom woven together by a family member using Silk fibers and the stories of your Ancestors. In my opinion: the sentimental symbolism, familial significance and long term preservation outweigh the sourcing method.

Silk is an ideal textile companion for dreamwork or dreamtime travel. If Silk isn't a styling option that goes well with your day to day lifestyle, you can always benefit from it's healing and protective vibrations by incorporating it into your home's interior design. I recommend anyone who is converting their home into a sacred safe space to invest in some silk / satin sheets in a color that brings them joy. That way your Light Body is swaddled in a restorative cocoon to repair itself while your physical body is asleep repairing itself.

The Style Cosmology of Silk does not end there. Silk derives its healing ability from being a highly vibrational textile. While the Light Body's natural vibration sits somewhere around 100, Silk's frequency is near 1000!
