Calling in the Power of Purple for Divine Peace

If you think of yourself as a magical sovereign being, you probably have a deep reverence for the color purple. Not only does it make us feel regal, elegant and noble; it also has a calming effect on our subtle bodies and psychic centers. Purple is closely related to the crown chakra center and encourages inner world peace. The spiritual silence obtained through welcoming this dynamic energy into one's personal energy field, is in my opinion exactly why it was banned from being worn by the masses until the 1900's.

The Herstory & Culture

The color purple is found in nature very rarely. It's reported that it was first discovered and utilized around 1200 BC by the Phoenicians from the mucus of snails! The process of obtaining purple ink from these snails required THOUSANDS of snails, so it was very expensive and largely only accessible to royalty. The exclusivity of the color created much hype in the ancient world among royals, and they incorporated the color not only into their wardrobes but their palaces and artwork as well.

The ancients knew how to leverage the Style Cosmology embodied in the purple frequency for a calm and powerful presence. The power of purple allows us the luxury of: clarity of thought, and a relaxed mental and emotional body. This is the type of disposition required to lead with love and not fear. However, in the ancient world not everyone was encouraged to be a leader. Quite the contrary, the masses were often expected to blindly obey whatever authority figure was places in front of them.

The lack of accessibility of the color purple was not enough for former Roman dictator Julius Caesar who took it a step further by passing a law that only emperors could wear the sacred hue of purple. This sent Roman senators into an uproar and eventually they were granted permission to adorn their garbs in simple stripes of purple only. For the rest of the population, being caught adorning oneself in a garment of the magical purple hue was punishable by death. Heavy laws and social guidelines surrounding the color purple continued on for centuries. King Henry the 8th charged someone with treason for wearing the color purple. Elizabeth the 1st made a proclamation that only the royal family was permitted to wear purple. While Europeans continued to double down on their attempts to subjugate and gatekeep the frequency of the purple; in the Americas this very same energy was perceived and shared in a very different way.

In North America, one of our most sacred cultural artifacts, The Hiawatha Wampum belt, features the sacred purple ray. The Hiawatha Wampum belt is a visual record of the Unification of Peace between nations, and it's symbolism is described beautifully by American Studies Professor John Mohawk's quote below:

"Basically it's called the Great Law of Peace because it's aimed at satisfying people's needs to use their minds instead of violence to settle their problems. So it is really aimed at passions. It's aimed at hatreds, and it constructed a very elaborate culture based on negotiations and on the principle of coming together to solve problems using your mind and not your weapons." - John Mohawk, Ph.D. (Seneca), Professor of American Studies, SUNY Buffalo

In the late 1800's a British chemist, named William Henry Perkin, discovered the first synthetic dye allowing for the color purple to be created without the use of thousands of snails. Finally the color purple would become available for enjoyment by the masses ! The art world exploded ! It was almost as though the fact that the color purple had been so taboo for so long, had directly contributed to the color becoming so prominent and influential in our modern day culture. Divine inspiration propelled by the exploration of the frequency of purple birthed a counter culture of mystery, magic and creative power. This sacred connection to the essence of the color purple has inspired unforgettable and timeless works of art including but not limited to Jimi Hendrix's Purple Haze, Alice Walker's The Color Purple, and Prince's Purple Rain.

The Application & Effects

The purple ray is closely associated with the crown chakra center of consciousness that connects us with themes like; Divine wisdom, Ancestral connection, and spiritual lineage research. The crown chakra is also an important center in receiving various transmissions of healing light energy, during meditation , to address various mental, emotional and spiritual ailments. I feel intuitively that purple continues to be a favorite color of adornment for leaders globally because it supports radiating a powerful presence through silent confidence.

The energies of the purple ray are essential for quieting the mind and emotions. This is an important step that cannot be skipped over when one aspires to commune with their own inner Divine nature. Adorn your body temple with a talisman from the Divine Peace collection to experience the peaceful vibrations of purple and connect with your God nature. Each piece comes accompanied with a meditation for releasing the stress and strain of the world and supporting you to get into and sustaining a calm state.

The synchronicities of purple's calming crown-chakra activating properties, and how it supports the manifestation of coming together to solve problems using your mind is a confirmation of the power of harnessing the purple frequency. Purple empowers us to embody enough inner peace, despite the chaos around us, to connect to higher wisdom and guidance. If you want to experience the collective healing of embodying the purple ray in community, get your tickets to The Real Family Reunion: Return of the Gods happening in Atlanta, Georgia on July 29th - 31st.
